This has been on out hiking list since our last visit here in 1984 after a typhoon hit the Islands. We have been to Hawaii and done hikes all over the Big Island, in Volcanoes National Park, Northwest shore on Maui as well as hiking into Haleakala crater, but the Garden Island evaded us until this year. It was well... More

Waimea Canyon is breathtaking........... bring sneakers that you can throw out because of the red clay. Definitely worth the drive to see waterfalls, beautiful views and hike if you want to. At the first lookout there are bathrooms; and you can get something to eat.

Do it yourself drive to the epic Kauai Waimea Canyon lookout rewards you with a view of one of the true wonders of the Hawaiian Islands . A got-to-do side trip when in Kauai. Have the sweet baby banana lumpia from the street vendor as your reward ! JLL Santa Barbara

What a beautiful overlook of the valley and the rock formations and the clouds rolling in. Amazing to be so high and on a tropical island and see something like the "Grand Canyon". Easy access up a few steps or a ramp. Plenty of viewing space. We were on a tour so learned a lot of history. Was very windy-watch... More

This is a not to be missed outing and easily done on your own. Take the Waimea Canyon Road before you get into the town of Waimea of you will miss a lot of the spectacular viewings. There are many pull offs from which to see this deep canyon that has been compared to the Grand Canyon. The actual Waimea... More

People are going to include photos on their reviews of the Waimea Canyon but the photos won't do it justice. There are a couple of roads along the side of the canyon and one to the top. If you get motion sickness easily, the roads may not be for you but there are several lookout points to stop and grab... More

Had an amazing day here on November 20th. We spent over 4 hours visiting the attraction, stopping at most lookout points, all well-worth it. Be sure to go the Pu'u o Kila Lookout at the end of the road, the view is absolutely breath- taking. Such a great day here, don't miss it!

It one of the best natural place in the world. You must to see it. Its worth to spend half day here at least, but only in fine weather. There are many lookpoints with parkplace on the road. Best colours has canyon in the afternoon.
