This is an interesting side-trip. It’s purpose is to save the wild birds, by giving feral cats a place to live. There are lots of friendly cats that like being petted. I had one super-friendly cat jump on my back.

It's about a 45 minute ride from Lahaina to the dock on the island of Lanai. A shuttle bus meets you at the dock and can take you to the sanctuary in about 20 minutes. Plan on spending at least two hours at the sanctuary... More
It's about a 45 minute ride from Lahaina to the dock on the island of Lanai. A shuttle bus meets you at the dock and can take you to the sanctuary in about 20 minutes. Plan on spending at least two hours at the sanctuary (and arrange with your driver a pickup time). Each shuttle ride is presently $10 per person.
