If you're in Lanai City, the only town on the island, stop in. It's free and others a good overview of island history, including the many years when pineapple was kjng.

The Lanai Culture and Heritage Center is chock full of what makes Lanai Lanai. Learn about Lanai's island heritage, and Dole and its significant influence on the island. The Cultural Center is actually housed in the former Dole office building from the 50's. My favorite part of our visit was actually overhearing the very knowledgable docent, a native of Lanai,... Very good explanations of the artifacts and a pictorial history of the island. The people who work there are very knowledgeable and it was interesting to see the changes over time.

We didn't have much time as we were almost due at the airport and decided to stop by the Lanai Culture and Heritage Center. I'm glad we did. There were a lot of interesting pictures and artifacts mostly about the pineapple worker culture from the past. The guide working there was a very friendly woman who was very eager to... More

The Lanai Culture and Heritage center provides an interesting historical perspective to the island and its development by the pineapple industry. The historical timeline is fascinating.

If you really, really want to know more about Lana'i this is the place for you. It's staffed(mostly volunteers) by long time residents of the island that are good at the local tradition of Story. Artifacts are of high interest as is the timeline of the island.

Our guide told us they are going to expand or move to a larger building. I think that's good because this place is full of interesting artifacts and information about the Dole plantations, life on the island, and the unique culture to be found here. A friendly place -- you should definitely make it part of your trip if you... More

It is a small museum with artifacts, pictures, etc detailing the history and unique culture of the island. I really enjoyed the visit. The staff were friendly and helpful answering questions about Lanai. It is not a large museum and can be enjoyed in under an hour as I recall.
