Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You get here by going south of Hana. There is an entrance fee, but if you are going to go to Haleakala this entrance fee is good for both places and is good for three days. So we drove from Hana to Haleakala and were able to only pay once because we went inside the three days that the pass was good for, but keep the receipt. There are some beautiful areas to hike around here and gorgeous spots for pictures. There are restrooms that were open while we were here in February.

Beautiful views! There are 2 hiking trails. The shorter one lets you walk to the bottom of the pools for some nice views. The longer is 4 miles round trip and gets you up close to the waterfall. There are clean bathrooms and a water filling station. The visitors center is helpful and has some souvenirs but does not take cash- credit card only!

If youi find the Lindbergh Gravesite then just to the east you fill find a park that overlooks the ocean. The park is enclosed by a fence and is good for a picnic.

If i am driving from the Haleakala Summit district down to the Kipahulu district, which road should i preferably take? I see that there are to roads, either from The summit district and take the road to hana way to kipahulu, or take the other route which i think is route/highway 31/37 coming from Keokea. I want to visit Kipahulu after the sunrise. THANK YOU.
