Aloha and welcome to Mauis Garden Of Eden Arboretum. An Arboretum is a park...

Aloha and welcome to Mauis Garden Of Eden Arboretum. An Arboretum is a park dedicated to trees. We also feature hundreds of lowland rainforest species of flowers, shrubs, and ground covers as well.We began this project in1991 with 30 acres of densely overgrown jungle, now after investing more than 20yrs of physical labor and 2 million dollars, we have created one of Hawaii's most visited botanical gardens. We have many plants found nowhere else or are uncommon to Hawaii, such as rare Amazon fruits and medicinal species, endangered hardwoods, spice, exotic nut trees, ferns and so much more...A botanical Disneyland with over 2 miles of maintained graveled walking trails...A truly educational facility with over 700 plants botanically labeled. Try to allow at least 45 minutes to explore. We feature great views and photo opportunities but no direct access to the waterfall or pools. If you are only interested in restrooms (we now have improved facilities) You can do so for free 2 miles down the road.A portion of your entry fee is donated to the nature conservatory. The cost to keep our gate open averages $1,000/dy so we sincerely thank you for your support,,,especially those who have contributed beyond our entry fee. Most botanical gardens have teams of volunteers and use chemicals to curb costs. Our entire staff are well paid professionals, and we are almost entirely a chemical free park. Thank you for visiting, we do take your comments to heart

We drove out to Hana - and kept these Gardens in the back of our minds....as a place to revisit should time allow. We made a special trip back out on the road to Hana just to visit, and were not disappointed. There's another good forest hike just before the turn in to the Garden of Eden....which was also enjoyable.... More

The Garden of Eden has some lovely plants and trails in a garden built by a father and daughter team. If you're looking for a stroll trough a picturesque garden, this is the place. You can certainly take pretty pictures of your important companion amid some pretty flowers. However, if you're looking for a real arboretum in which to learn... More

My adult family of 5 made this unplanned stop on a whim. Are we glad we did! It turned out to be one of the most enjoyable stops we made on our road to Hana. Eden is blustering with gorgeous trees, flowers, birds, peacocks, etc. The silence of the Garden with only the sounds of the birds is tranquil. This... More

So the plants are very unique and pretty as is the whole area. The price is steep and the restrooms were completely out of order and disgusting. We would not waste the money if we went again but it's a good joke now that we spent the money to stop here.

Beautiful well groomed nature trails. Peacocks wandering throughout. Careful thought and ongoing maintenance keeps this a beautiful unique botanical island garden. Lookout for waterfalls and Keopuka Rock which was featured in opening scenes of Jurassic Park. Tip....pack a picnic lunch. A number of beautiful picnic spots n this tropical paradise.

After an hour of white-knuckle driving, we wanted to stop and walk and take in the awesome scenery and absorb some local color. The roadside stops seemed swarming with people and cars. We found this Garden of Eden just what we were looking for. About two miles of garden paths, waterfall views, ocean views, labeled plants from Breadfruit to Mango... More

Seeing that this isn't state sponsored at all, it is all the life-work of man and his daughter, it is well worth seeing. There is a great view of a water-fall and its pool and the the loving care of the planets and trees is obvious. There are a lot of trees here you might never get to see otherwise.... More

This arboretum costs to enter but it remains one of my favorite spots on the road to Hana. Perfect for picnics, easy strolls, the Garden of Eden has an enormous selection of plants. It also has a muster of peacocks and hens near the art gallery.

I'm a plant lover but found this garden underwhelming. There were some beautiful lookouts but I didn't think it was worth paying $15 a person. We stayed for about 10mins. There are much more beautiful free stops along the road to Hana!

What a wonderful surprise it was to discover when we decided to veer off our road to Hana and stop to visit this gorgeous garden overlooking the ocean. In the shadow of the volcano it became even more magical.
