Aloha and welcome to Mauis Garden Of Eden Arboretum. An Arboretum is a park...

Aloha and welcome to Mauis Garden Of Eden Arboretum. An Arboretum is a park dedicated to trees. We also feature hundreds of lowland rainforest species of flowers, shrubs, and ground covers as well.We began this project in1991 with 30 acres of densely overgrown jungle, now after investing more than 20yrs of physical labor and 2 million dollars, we have created one of Hawaii's most visited botanical gardens. We have many plants found nowhere else or are uncommon to Hawaii, such as rare Amazon fruits and medicinal species, endangered hardwoods, spice, exotic nut trees, ferns and so much more...A botanical Disneyland with over 2 miles of maintained graveled walking trails...A truly educational facility with over 700 plants botanically labeled. Try to allow at least 45 minutes to explore. We feature great views and photo opportunities but no direct access to the waterfall or pools. If you are only interested in restrooms (we now have improved facilities) You can do so for free 2 miles down the road.A portion of your entry fee is donated to the nature conservatory. The cost to keep our gate open averages $1,000/dy so we sincerely thank you for your support,,,especially those who have contributed beyond our entry fee. Most botanical gardens have teams of volunteers and use chemicals to curb costs. Our entire staff are well paid professionals, and we are almost entirely a chemical free park. Thank you for visiting, we do take your comments to heart

A magical garden -with peacocks, bamboo forests and surprising, stunning waterfalls

We stopped here on our way to Hana. Although the grounds are well kept, this place is really kitschy compared to the views available all along the Hana Highway, as well as beyond Hana proper in Haleakala National Park. The views of falls and nature are better elsewhere. Only stop here if you NEED to use the washrooms. It's not... More

This is a great place to see, but go in the spring time, not February! I've been here before in the spring time and it's amazing, however I wanted to go this trip and show my bf how great it was and he couldn't understand why I talked it up so much because it wasn't nearly as beautiful as it... Stopped off here as we needed a break on the Hanna Highway, and we're delighted we did. The range of trees and shrubs from around the world is fabulous, as are the views. A great deal of vision has clearly gone into the planning, both in terms of the garden design and the items planted. As we found the destination... More

Our trip to Hana was very enjoyable . We stopped at The Garden of Eden and really enjoyed our time there . The grounds are well kept and the staff were great . Clean restrooms and a nice place to have a picnic lunch .

We have stopped here every time we have driven to Hana (4 times) but this was the first for 10 years. Still a spot that we enjoy hugely and we had a stop, picnic and a good walk around. Restrooms were good too. It's $15 so you might not go for a fleeting visit but we see it an essential... More

We thoroughly enjoyed wandering through the tropical gardens where you can see out to the ocean as well as get a lovely view of a waterfall. Good restrooms too!

We drove out to Hana - and kept these Gardens in the back of our minds....as a place to revisit should time allow. We made a special trip back out on the road to Hana just to visit, and were not disappointed. There's another good forest hike just before the turn in to the Garden of Eden....which was also enjoyable.... More

The Garden of Eden has some lovely plants and trails in a garden built by a father and daughter team. If you're looking for a stroll trough a picturesque garden, this is the place. You can certainly take pretty pictures of your important companion amid some pretty flowers. However, if you're looking for a real arboretum in which to learn... More

My adult family of 5 made this unplanned stop on a whim. Are we glad we did! It turned out to be one of the most enjoyable stops we made on our road to Hana. Eden is blustering with gorgeous trees, flowers, birds, peacocks, etc. The silence of the Garden with only the sounds of the birds is tranquil. This... More

So the plants are very unique and pretty as is the whole area. The price is steep and the restrooms were completely out of order and disgusting. We would not waste the money if we went again but it's a good joke now that we spent the money to stop here.

Mahalo for the review, Kristen. We're sorry you found the restrooms a mess- they are checked throughout the day and deep cleaned at closing every day. Our restrooms are some of the best you'll find on the road to Hana, they were built less than 2 years ago and are maintained well. All rain catchment systems are delicate and at... More
