This stone near the harbour was the birthing stone for the Hawaiian royal family. It has a curved shape in which the mother sat to give birth. Easily missed if you are just wandering by, it is worth seeing because of its history.

Located along the waterfront near the harbor in Lahaina just on the other side of the seawall. An interesting landmark, not much to look at, but historical.

It was essentially under water when viewed but it certainly had some interesting history and claimed to be the birthing stone of Kings and a few other things as well.. Interesting bit of history and fable but that was about it.

The park is nice. No reason not to see this while in Lahaina. I thought it was something worth seeing without spending a ton of time on it.

This may not look like much but it has history. When they wanted to make Lahaina Harbor bigger this stone seemed like it would be in the way. I think it was a factor for not making the harbor bigger. So we still have a...More

Hundreds of Hawaiian women gave birth on this stone. Amazing. Read the plaque and you'll learn a lot of history about this stone. No one seems to know it's there.

My wife and I viewed this ancient sacred rock from the Brick Palace of King Kamehameha-I, which is left of the pier. Hauola Rock is a sacred chair-shaped rock near the rocky shoreline of the Lahaina Harbor. Depending on the tide, the rock can be...More

The Hauola Stone is located just-off the water-edge near the Brick Palace of King Kamehameha-I, left of the pier, as you step-off the ship-tender. Traditionally, this place - the "sofa-shaped" Sacred Hauola Stone was used as an "obstetric table" where the Queens would give birth...More
