Very fun to see turtles on the beach especially since our kids are too young to go snorkeling to see turtles. There were around 30 turtles on the beach and was fun seeing some coming up onto the beach and others going back out to...More

This is the place to go if you want to see wind surfers! So fun and beautiful scenery. If you have dinner reservations at Mama's fish house, go a little early and check out this beach!

Unfortunately there were too much wind and high surf to allow the local surfers to work there magic on the waves. We were able to see some great waves and the Green Sea Turtles that come up to the shore were incredible to see. That...More

Great view and sea turtles! This beach park has portable bathrooms and picnic tables. We were able to see 3 large sea turtles from the walkway. They are beautiful!

We were able to visit this beach on the last day of our holiday. Fantastic views of the waves, surf, and beach. Not a recommended place for swimming but a nice place to walk the beach or sun tan. Friends had recommended this spot and...More

We had an amazing time visiting here. Some locals selling some local merchandise, but down below Honu love to bathe in the sun on the sand.

Hawai'i is the only place in the world where turtles come ashore to rest, not just nest. When we were there we saw probably 50 of them, and a volunteer naturalist kept people away from them but also answered questions.

We headed here to watch some surfing. There were also some wind and kite surfers. There is a fruit stand where we got a fresh coconut to enjoy while we watched. It was a nice place to stop for a bit.

A sandy beach, except for the south end, where it's hard for the untrained eye to separate the boulders form the many green sea turtles that sun on the shore, especially in the evening. It's eye-opening to see just how clumsy these beautiful creatures are...More

You could swim here. There were people snorkeling when we went but you will need to be a pretty strong swimmer.

As many have stated it would seem that dusk (just prior to sunset) seems to be when you are most likely to see turtles in great numbers. However, I think that there are some on the beach at any time during the day.

Delayed answer. The surfing app question has been answered quite well. Surfers are there whenever the wind is blowing, which is all of the time. This is one of the VERY best wind surfing beaches in the world. The greatest... More
