This is a tourist thing to do. It was kind of smultzy but not really over the top. Some on our tour took pictures of every leaf and flower. I found some of the facts interesting. 20 bucks seemed pretty high for about 30 mins. Gift shop us nice

So many changes in past couple years. Really worth visiting! Your kids will love the train ride and you will enjoy all the info their tourguide will give you about all the plants they have on their plantation. Plus it is an excellent wedding venue! not an ocean front, but you will love it.

We had been here many years ago and loved walking the plantation grounds at your leisure . Came back today only to be told the only way to see the plantation was with a $20 per person tram ride. This was not clear from previous reviews . Since it was raining we left very disappointed

We purchased the tickets to take the tour at $20 each, which I think was a little steep. We couldn't hear the tour guide very well, I think she was soft spoken and didn't speak very loudly if clearly. The tour took us thru the plantation to show us all the plants. We had a coconut breaking demonstration that was... More

The Maui Tropical Plantation tour is very well done. The guide/driver was extremely knowledgeable. The demonstration of coconut husking is fascinating. The gardens are breathtaking. Worth the visit.

Really enjoyed the plantation and the train ride. It was very interesting and in a nice setting. The gift shop was pretty reasonable, didn't try the restruant but the aroma was inviting. I did order papayas from the little farm store outside, can't wait to get them. They ship on Wednesdays and the price wasn't bad either. I would highly... More

This place has long been a tourist mecca, including the largest gee-gaw shopping store on Maui, a nice restaurant, a coffee/ice cream shop, beautiful grounds and acres of flowers and native plants, all viewable by a tram ride. Not to mention a great wild chicken collection and lots of birds. The mail-out flower arrangements are second to none, and the... More

We did not do the train ride as we thought it was a little pricey, but we enjoyed walking around the grounds, and took some beautiful pictures. We had good iced coffee at the coffee shop and bought a few souvenirs at the gift shop. Worth a visit!
