Very good place in case of big waves or just for long relax. Large sandy beach, restrooms, lifeguard.

I loved Waimea Bay! Although it was pouring raining when I went, the scenery is absolutely beautiful. The beach is super nice and they have a life guard on site which makes it really safe! Would definitely visit again!

If you're interested in body surfing, watching surfing or jumping in a rough surf, this is the beach for you November through March. This has been a favorite winter beach for us since we enjoy a rough surf to play in. Not suitable for kids right now. If you want to jump off the large rock in this bay... come... More

This is an absolutely gorgeous area on the island. It is well worth the trip from Waikiki. The waves are breath taking in the winter months. It can take a while to drive there because of the traffic on the two lane road. And there were construction lane closures getting in and around the area, so allow enough time to... More

Awesome beach to visit when venturing up the North Shore. Be aware of large waves and rips. There are life guards on duty during the day. Next time I would like to spend a whole day here. SO good to get out of the hustle and bustle of waikiki beach.

Waves and current are very strong, esp the shore break. While swimming, we had to wait for the wave to bring us in to the beach were we could touch the bottom, the current is too strong to swim against when the waves are pulling out. It's quite a steep shoreline. It will definitely take you in, so it's no... More

This is a secluded small beach area. Waves can get pretty high and the shore break can be rough, but it still is a very beautiful beach.

Waimea Bay isn't a large beach but it is a great place to sit and watch the surfers or surf yourself. Like any other Hawaiian beach the view is great.

Surfing and body boarding is serious here. The waves are huge, and it makes for quite a spectacle! Parking might be difficult here, depending on the time of your visit.
