Definitely the highlight of our 9 days in Hawaii. All 3 of us had the experience of a lifetime with Keola. Right from the get go - the chant before entering the trail - we knew we... read more

Nuey, our driver and Hawaiian history and language educated guide, drove us over the rough terrain and creek crossings like the pro that he is. The vehicle is a 1950 Pinzgauer, affectionately known as "The Piglet". We saw three wild pigs, which I understand is very unusual. We caught just a glimpse of them as they bailed off the road... Definitely the highlight of our 9 days in Hawaii. All 3 of us had the experience of a lifetime with Keola. Right from the get go - the chant before entering the trail - we knew we were in for something different. Gorgeous landscape to be able to hike through, and Keola is such a wealth of information about the... More

It doesn't get much better than this if you enjoy hiking through a nice forest scenery. Our guide Keola was great. Nice guy and he also taught us much about the history of Hawaii's natural landscape and plant culture. There was also a nice pond halfway in where we could eat our delicious lunches that were provided and also swim... More

I recently experienced a guided hike with North Shore Eco Tours and LOVED IT! Our tour guide Noah was awesome! He is very passionate about the land and the history of the native Hawaiian people. Devoted to green living and sustainability, I feel that he has given me a new appreciation for the island and what truly makes Hawaii such... More

Paul was very nice and is a great guide if you are a bird enthusiast. The tour doesn't provide a lot of time to be spent at each attraction because of logistics, but for a "sampler" of tours... Very nice

This hike is an excellent way to both see the Hawaiian rainforest up close and learn about the people and culture from a local. Our guide was a university student in Hawaiian studies with a focus in land reclamation and conservation. We were exceptionally pleased to start our Hawaiian trip with learning about the land and the people firsthand, before... More

We are so glad that you enjoyed your hiking adventure with us and we mahalo you for your recent visit to Oʻahuʻs North Shore. On that note, I wanted to take a brief moment to respond to a couple points in your review. First, we would agree with your statement that "this is a real hike in a rainforest". Guests... More

I've been to Oahu dozens of times and enjoyed the public hikes...but taking a private hike on private land with guides who are well versed in local history and ecology was treat! The land was beautiful, we stopped to eat fruit off the trees along the way and ended by jumping into a swimming hole. Pretty much a perfect day.

This tour and Keola was awesome! Not only did we all have a fabulous time being in the jungle, amongst all of the koa, waiawi (delicious strawberry guava) and ʻiliahi (sandalwood) [I think, my memory is really bad, lol], but it also felt like one of the most culturally authentic experiences I've had to date! Keola really knows his stuff,... More

Signed up to do their "big" hike, which is about 3 miles round trip along a stream south east of Haleiwa, sort of near the new wind mills. The tour company has an exclusive arrangement with the property owner, so we didn't see anyone else while hiking. Keola, the tour leader, also teaches Hawaiian studies at the university, so he...
