Having done the popular hikes on Oahu, we decided to try some of the less "touristy" ones. Finding the trailhead for the hike can be a bit of a challenge as there really isn't any official marker or anything. We searched online and found where others had entered the trail and went there. Just past the Crouching Lion restaurant parking... More

This is a small shop on the North Shore highway at Crouching Lion. It is easy to miss if you are taking in the beautiful shore scenery on the other side of the road. The chocolate is delicious and packaged in balls of varying flavors. They offer items such as donkey balls, dirty balls, fire balls, mint balls, etc. You... More

Delicious homemade chocolate delights. Mostly dark chocolate covered bite sized wonders, but does have white and milk chocolate products as well. Friendly and helpful owner who will give you tastes to enable you to make an informed decision. Great unique gifts to take home. Also free shipping on website when purchase is over $50. Make the stop on your trip... More

Great views from the top of the Crouching lion, but the 30 minute climb can be hard for people not use to hiking.

At at first we were impressed. The calamari was the largest we had ever seen. All we needed with a squeeze of lemon and a little salt. Are mixed drinks can quickly but were weak. We ordered surf and surf (their crab cake and coconut shrimp) to share. But when it came time to serve our meal we were informed... More

We went to Crouching Lion for Dinner in a Monday evening, after receiving a recommendation from a native Hawaiian. One in our group ordered the catch of the day, a swordfish type of fish, it was tough and tasted like it was frozen. Another in our group ordered the calamari, it was rubbery and again tasted like it was frozen.... More

There isn't a lot to choose from on the north shore. We were very pleased to find the Crouching Lion. The food was very good. As with most places here, there was outdoor seating. Indoor seating was available, but not offered to us. I don't mind sitting outdoors but the flies were an issue. When the rain started up, our... More

This place only exists due to its convenient location on the beaten path. Tourists on the way or back from the North Shore or the Polynesian Cultural Center will see it, since it is right on the highway. This restaurant is for sale since a long time. The quality of the food tells it all. If you pass it, stop... More

The resturant is across the street from the eastern coastline of Oahu, south of the cultural center.

so we were driving along the north shore and after a day of tooling around and seeing turtles and beaches, we decided to stop at this place. it was not crowded and we were able to snag a table outside overlooking the ocean. after perusing the menu and looking around at others dishes we were not impressed, but hubby was...
