If you are looking for a beautiful semi quiet beach where you can just sit under bountiful shade trees and catch the ocean view, this is the place for you! There are showers, rest rooms, and ample parking which fills up fast so arrive early! Smaller waves, great for small children as this beach is pretty sheltered from ocean waves.... More

We stopped at Kailua Beach Park several times during our week on Oahu. It's a great beach for a morning run--we entered at the main parking lot and ran two miles out before we had to turn around (Lanikai is only 1 mile round-trip). We also rented sea kayaks nearby and put in at the beach, which has lifeguards and... More

Whoever thought of putting a park in this spot had a great idea. The park has a nice grassy hill and some areas for picnicking, but most of all it leads down to one of the most spectacular beaches in the world. We have been here many times and love it. The park offers restrooms and outdoor showers, which come... More

Peace. Quiet. Breathtaking beauty. This is the place to be. Yes, there are people here, many of them locals, enjoying the beach, but there are plenty of places to lay your blanket out and enjoy the sun (or shade) and enjoy the quintessential Hawaiian views in. Bring a good camera and have some fun photographing here; this is the spot... More

Definitely a great place to visit if you don't like the crowds at Waikiki Beach. You can do tons of sports activities from canoe to parasailing. A bit windy and the water was a tad cold but other than that, a great Hawaiian gem. Super busy on the weekend, limited parking.

Boat ramp for launching, designated swimmer only area 1,000 yards along the park, designated kite surf launch site, 2.5 mile beach to walk/jog, shade trees and shower/bathroom facilities. On calmer days kayaks and standup paddlers launch and visit offshore islands.

We just got back from our very first trip to Oahu. After spending almost 2 weeks there and seeing the entire island we thought "why would anyone want to leave Kailua." The beach park was a great place for a young family because the surf was so small we didn't have to worry about our little kids getting swept away.

Superb beach with fine soft sand, beautiful water and fun but not scary surf for boogie boarding or paddle boarding. Best if you can park elsewhere, parking is really limited.

Kailua beach is a must-see! It is easier to access than Lanikai because it has a big parking lot, and actual facilities. The beach itself is stunning, and what most people consider ideal. The sand is soft, the water is clear and impossibly blue. Although it was busy, we had no trouble getting a parking spot and we didn't feel... More

There is a small car park right at the beach, so if you're lucky you can find a spot here. The water was so blue and very calm, so it’s a nice place for a relaxing beach day. There weren't too many people when we visited, so we had a lovely time. The waves are very small and there wasn't... More
