Nice drive from Waikiki. Serene place to relax, meditate and feed birds and fish. We went there with our two kids - 9 and 4 - and it was a day very well spent!

This relaxing place situated behind a cemetery and is very calming. The road signage is small so don't miss it and don't let the cemetery deter you. It is a great experience and one you won't forget. Pay attention to signs before entering the temple...nobody wants to disgrace another culture. There is a souvenir/snack shop on the property. Huge koi... More

Though not a long experience, the grounds are beautiful and it is quite peaceful. Definitely a great stopping point along the coast.

As I crossed that bridge and walked to the temple I felt I was in some ancient Japan movie. To your left you have a bell to ring for the temple and straight in front of you the temple looks beyond beautiful. You see fishes in the water that you can feed. If you are a cat lover which we... More

Saw this on a rainy day. Quite inexpensive. Lots of wild chickens and koi. Not very accessible. Limited parking

We loved the visit to this replica temple after receiving recommendations from several couples and a few family members who have visited this spot on their trips to Hawaii. There is nothing "Hollywood" about this place, but if you have an appreciation for landscaping, culture, or architecture, the small entrance fee is well worth it. This is a quiet place... More

Although, The Byodo-In Temple in O'ahu is a smaller-scale replica of the over 950-year-old Byodo-in Temple, it's still one of prettiest Buddhist temples I have ever visited where I can also feel the peace and virtue. It's absolutely gorgeous! Admission for adult is only $3.00. Once you are there, you will find a nice koi pond, wild peacocks, small water... More
