A lovely short detour. Reminded us of some of the smaller temples in Japan. Bring insect repellent on damp, cloudy days.

The temple is currently under restoration, but the rest of the garden are still worth visiting. It has a large sacred bell the visitors can toll, a large pond filled with kois and beautiful black swans.

Very fun place to visit, I think it cost like $3 per person to go in and look around, with free parking. Besides the main large temple, there are many ponds and gardens to walk around and enjoy.

The temple and ground around the temple are stunning with the incredible mountains in the background. There is a small entrance fee. There are birds and koi and turtles. An array ofr plant life, gardens, waterfalls and trails.

I am so glad we decided to stop, this was such an expected treat and an amazing experience. While there was some construction going on to the structure, it didn't take away from our time there. Great pictures and lots of things to see. We even met the Temple Guardian Cat, B-Chan, although she was not happy we bothered her.... More

This was one of the stops on a Grand Island Tour through Roberts Hawaii. I am glad that we stopped here because the temple was so beautiful. There were black swans too and the sacred bell to ring. I'm glad that we stopped here!

A beautiful place to view Japanese architecture and a huge Budda, where respect is ensured. Visitors are asked to remove their shoes if going inside. The black swan, turtles and frogs amongst the waters were serene.

This was one of the stops during my Hawaii tour that i took from discoverhawaiitours.com. I absolutely loved it. The setting looks right out of a movie. It is very scenic. This temple was made to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii.

Good place to take kids...ring the bell, feed the koi, explore the gardens, take great photos. Easy to find as you travel north. You don't need an expensive tour bus trip as there is parking and admission is minimal.
