Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Don’t recommend this at all. Hoped it would be a cool quirky place but it really was just junky. At the end of a pot-hope filled dirt road. No one said anything to us as we walked around. We bought a snack and left. Waste of time

I was happy to kind green Kona coffee beans that I've been searching everywhere for :) The place is nothing fancy because they kept the old factory vibe but I like it like this...rustic feeling :)

Came looking for some Hawaiian made chocolate. It turns out that this isn't really a factory store or anything, just a rather rundown barn turned souvenir shop that also sells island-grown coffee and chocolate in addition to the usual touristy trinkets (i.e., junk). We wandered around for a while looking for the chocolate in question before finally finding it stashed in a small refrigerator by the coffee.
Now, as most people know, you shouldn't store chocolate in a refrigerator as it will bloom (get that chalky coating on the surface which can also adversely affect its flavor). We suspect they had no choice as their building is not climate controlled and bloomed chocolate is better than melted chocolate which would perhaps be a little too obvious to customers looking at a sealed bar. However, at $10 a bar, this wasn't cheap, and we would expect (like us) most customers want their purchase to be factory fresh for that price. By the way, we also found some toffee made with Hawaiian ingredients near the fridge - it was somewhat gooey, but at least it didn't get put into the fridge, so tasted pretty good.
By the way, the address listed for this place won't quite get you here when put into your GPS - it'll get you close, but at that last turn, you should go in the opposite direction to what the GPS says and you'll find it- assuming you still have a desire to visit this place. Frankly, we think you should pass.

We spent a happy time here in the rain, unfortunately too wet for the outside tour. However we had a great education about the different kinds of coffee and processing. Being used to espresso style coffee the American style filter coffee samples were bland, but did still highlight the different flavours. Lots of samples offered of chocolate and nut butters and a really good range of gifts. It's all in an old processing shed, very rustic, and there are several other shops on the property. There's also a farmers market on Saturday mornings. We had honestly the best fish meal ever, pan fried while we waited by the fisherman himself. While the gift range was very touristy, it had a great family and country feel to it, and Waialua itself feels off the beaten track.

This industrial building is nestled next to a cone-shaped old sugar mill, kind of decieving when you're on the road. But once you get inside, its awesome! A real local feel, friendly staff, and a tour guide who teaches you all about the Dole plantation's work on coffee and chocolate. Super nice tour of the facility's machines and processes over a 15-minute tour, and then a delicious coffee and chocolate tasting afterwards! Even peaberry, which is the real good stuff. The place also has plenty of tourist souvenirs, I bought a few cool postcards. Go here! Right near the Dole pineapple plantation, and this place is a million times better.

This is a local delight. It is a working processing facility where cacao goes from tree to chocolate and where coffee goes from tree to bean in various ways. The tour was super informative and the samples at the end were delicious. It is super low-key and has a factory vibe, not fancy at all.

Bob (manager) received us (hubby and me.) He offered a free tour just for us. Don’t expect a suit and tie or a hula skirt. He’s an enthusiastic man who loves what he does. We got to see the coffee and Christy chocolate trees and learned how they grow both and the different products that they manufacture. We got to sample a variety of things and everything was super good. It is a must visit place!

I enjoyed visiting and tasting three different chocolates. They’ll explain the bean to bar process while you’re there
