Tourist trap by the water with the ubiquitous tee shirt shops, bad restaurants, and trinket stores. However, it also has the sea lions which make up for it all. The sea lions are so wonderful to watch and very entertaining. The family enjoyed them immensely.

Nice shops and restaurants. A must visit. We went at night and loved the positive energy. Souvenirs shops have a very good variety of gift items that are reasonably priced and cater to different ages and styles.

It's a must see but like most tourist spots, busy crowded and overpriced. The view of Alcatraz and the bridge, along with the sea lions are the best part

It's good and bad, caters for all with eateries, shops, views and Sea Lions (seasonal) and whe you've done the big sites is probably where you'll end up. Don't rush as it is a tourist area overall, just close to the water and with nice view and some sea life in residence. Put it a way down the SF bucket... More

We paid a visit here as we had booked tickets to The Aquarium. Lots of souvenir shops and restaurants. Main area is called Fisherman's Wharf. You can experience lots of sea lions sunbathing on the jetties in the marina here.

Located next to Fishermans Wharf is Pier 39. We ate lunch at Boudin's and that is a different review. This is also the area where there are several tourist attractions and many many places to eat. I was surprised there was a Rainforest Cafe located here since I associate that so closely with Walt Disney World in Orlando. And for... More

Easy access, fun and safe as we strolled and milled around the shops. A short walk from the Alcatraz landing. Around the back side of the pier are the floats the allow hundreds of sea lions to rest and play.

Shops, shops & more shops. Cute and all it's an open air shopping mall. Had lunch there in one of those "classic" sea food places... absolutely disappointing.
