This museum does a wonderful job displaying beautiful art from all over Asia. Works from Iran to Japan are showcased. We enjoyed the Tomb Treasures exhibit from the Han dynasty in China. Well worth spending a couple of hours here.

This is a very different collection. Would definitely recommend visiting and paying the extra $ to see the Tomb Treasures exhibit if it is still available.

My wife and I visited on a whim while we were in San Francisco. We were floored by how large, varied and impressive the collection was. There was no special exhibit at the time of our visit. We just went through the main collection. It was well laid out and fascinating. It really gave us an appreciation for the variety... More

As usual, the exhibition was well curated, a manageable size and interestingly displayed. Asian Art Museum Staff are quite knowledgeable and eager to share their passion for Asian Art. A jewel!

The... More

They have Thursday night $5 special entrance for the younger crowd. Really awesome collection of asian artifacts. I live right next to it and often take friends who visit me there.

Internationally known, this museum is welcoming and user-friendly. The encyclopedic collection encompasses Southeast Asia, India, China, Japan,a little of the Middle East, and Korea, spread across three levels, beautifully displayed. It used to be housed in a wing of the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park, but about ten years ago moved to the city's former main public library,... More
