I have wanted to see a sub forever and was excited for this exhibit. A few things ruined my experience a bit though. The attendee didn't have good customer service (noticing us waiting, warning us it was closing in 30 minutes, and letting drunk people board behind me and my two girls.) If we weren't trying to out run the... More

The boat is tied alongside the fisherman's wharf pier, I did not know it was there until I spotted her from the Alcatraz ferry. You are pay $20 and receive a self guided audio tour set to use if you wish. The tour takes you from the rear down a ladder (steep steps) onto the main deck, as you make... More

I have been on other ships, but never a submarine in the water. I knew they were small, but I had no idea just how cramped the quarters were for a crew of roughly 75. It was fascinating and a lot of fun to see the inner workings. If you take your time, the self-guided audio tour - which I... More

Really enjoyed our tour through the Submarine. Well worth the visit & had our 12 year old daughter enthralled also. Much better than we expected.

We arrived early on a rainy day and had the sub to ourselves. Very interesting self walking audio tour. You have access to almost the entire sub, both torpedo rooms, crew mess, engine room and officers country as they call it. This is a well restored important piece of our history that shows how the heros of the silent service... More

Didn't plan on this tour but it was a memorable experience. We had some time and there was no line, so we bought tickets and went onto the sub. I'd never been on a submarine and can only imagine what it was like to be deployed on this particular during WWII. The audio tour had great interviews with actual crew... More

If you've been interested in how it felt to spend time in a WWII submarine this is the place for you. With a storm in the area and the tour to myself it was an eery and neat experience to feel the sub moving with the waves. I'd recommend dressing a little warm, the sub is likely to be the... More

Never stepped foot on a submarine so this was a great opportunity and it was a revelation. The audio tour is good but overall it really makes you think just how challenging living on one of these ships was.
