My both kids loved to get into a real submarine. they are 8 and 4 (girl and boy) and they were amazed what was inside the submarine and to listen to the description of the different parts of it. They liked the explanation of the...More

This is one of those waterfront attractions that really doesn't make you feel like you're in San Francisco. It's an interesting walk through an old submarine, but while in San Francisco do some cool outdoor San Francisco stuff. Don't waste your time hunched over in...More

When I was in boy scouts we had the option to stay abord the pompanito for the night. I remember it being very cramped and uncomfortable but it's all worth it when go on the tour.

Probably not a top 10 thing to do in SF, but if you're in town for several days, or on a repeat visit the Pampanito is a great way to spend a few hours.

When you are down by Fisherman's Quay, ignore all the tat and tourist garbage. This is a gem of a museum and they offer military discount too.Wander through the sub and get a feel what life was really like under the waves.

This would be difficult for anybody physically challenged due to entrances that are tight and passagways that are narrow. Add to that the need to traverse through hatches to see the entirety of the submarine and the... More
