We planned to stop buy and see these historic buildings but ended up just walking by and bumping into them. They are some of the most meticulously maintained historic buildings you will ever see. Lots of people in the park across the street taking photos of them.

The houses are beautiful, but not close to anything else, so its a long trip to see a few houses... I only went because there was some time left to kill.

One never tires of the Painted Ladies on Alamo Square, as well as all around the City. They are what makes the place so special.

In my opinion the Naked Ladies are highly oversold. As an attraction that is somewhat of a destination, I was disappointed. Walking there took us though some interesting neighborhoods but took longer than we had thought. If you are short on time, skip it

First of all, most of the park in front of the houses was barricaded off for repairs. It was thoughtful of them to at least keep a small strip open so that we could get pictures. The houses themselves were a disappointment from my last visit several years ago. The colors used to be distictive from each other and now... More

Because the houses face west, visit later in the day to have the sun on them. We were there around 1:00 p.m. and the position of the sun provided good shadowing. Be aware that there will be parked cars in your photo unless you crop it higher up. Also take time to walk around the neighbourhood, because there are some... More

As we were told, that the Alamo square was closed for renovation we were a bit disappointed that we could not enjoy the view from the hill down to the Painted Ladies, but there is an area where you can take the pictures anyway. Sadly, in September the most left of the Ladies was under renovation too. We were advised... More
