Let me start with the negatives, there is only very limited parking available, hence it is advised to walk up the hill, unless you are visiting early in the morning. There is huge wait for the elevator, but the view from the top is worth...More

Coit tower, in San Francisco, is worth the climb. If the weather is clear, the view is spectacular and oddly serene. You can see some beautiful homes on the drive to the hill, as well. It is also a tourist bargain. Highly recommend.

Very nice view over the inner San Francisco - the Bay bridge, the Golden Gate bridge etc..... Highly recommended esp. on clear days!

It's a monument to the fire fighters of San Francisco. It's a landmark but wouldn't have gone out of our way to see it, chanced upon it when we climbed the filbert steps.

On a clear day you can see for miles! We were lucky, we had an exceptional day. Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, the Presidio, the city, to name some of what you can see. Good things - the price, the view, the murals while waiting for...More

You climb up for 15-20 minutes thousands of stair steps, while you see a nice (and hipster) neighborhood ingrown on the hill. When you reach the top of the hill (not of the tower) there is a water fountain to rehydrate your body, but the...More

Offers very nice view all over the San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge and Oakland Bay Bridge. Quiet expensive, but I liked it.

There are great views from outside Coit Tower and if you take the elevator to the top. The inside is covered in murals; they are very interesting...one could spend an hour just looking at them in detail.

To get to Coit tower you must climb telegraph hill. This is a journey to be savored, Don't race up and miss the details. Amble, note the gardens, many are community spaces, note the details of the different houses. Most of the streets are stairs....More

The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.

Not sure what these people are talking about. I wish people wouldn't answer questions if they really do not know the answer, but... You absolutely can pre-purchase a ticket for a specific date and time. With that ticket... More

The only way is the elevator . But if you want steps, you could walk up the 483 steps from Filbert to get to the tower itself! We did it and we are 60+ . And yes, we were happy to see the elevator inside. They also give a... More
