The Ghirardelli Sq was on our way from the hotel to Fisherman's. That's why we visited it..and were pretty disappointed. Old factory is converted into a shopping mall, wine and chocolate shops and few restaurants. All on high end prices. Nothing special, you could see that anywhere. If not on your way don't bother coming.

This was a little disappointing - there were only a few shops open. The best store was, of course, the Ghirardelli store. Otherwise, there is not much to see here.

World Famous Hot Fudge Sundae! This is a very busy location and it's hard to find a seat, but it's worth waiting for. The fudge was warm and not overly sweet and the whipped cream was real and not from a can.

It has great food the old spaghetti factory and Ghirardelli chocolates great place for children there's a beach here kids could enjoy the sand and water. Has great food here. Meet the locals here. It is for tourists but many locals come here just for the beach. I loved it here for a day of relaxation.

The complex is pretty but it just wasn't all that special. High end shops and restaurants like you find in any big city. The exception were all of the Ghirardelli shops and kiosks around. We were there before Christmas and it wasn't really very festive. Was disappointed that lights seemed burned out both nights that we were there. Bottom line:... More

Great place. Love the lights and all the stores and restaurants in it. Great for a wine tasting too.

Being from Pennsylvania I expected there to be more of a chocolate factory and tour like in Hershey.

There are no less than 4 Ghirardelli shops in Ghirardelli Square, so don't feel you have to suffer the long lines at the first shop - keep walking and you will come upon another right away. Loved the history behind this - gent arrives from Italy for the gold rush with chocolate as an afterthought - found out people had... More

The amounts of chocolate as far as the eye can see was wonderful. The weird combinations of chocolate and fruit and spicy caramel sound weird, but are awesome. They give you the ability to pay by pound and try different kinds. We also had sundaes which were great. The price is high, but well worth it. If you are a... More

Nothing more than a tourist trap. If this is your first visit then I recommend going here just to check it off the list. There is no value in going the second time unless you want to spend at least an hour stand in queue for half melted ice cream to eat on sticky tables. Expect zero customer service.
