Of all the hills in San Francisco, I wasn't absolutely Blown Away by Russian Hill. There's a tennis court on top of a reservoir. And the Russian Hill open space is really kind of ugly.

This area is not far from Nob Hill and has great views over the ocean, from some places all the way to the bridges. Lots of shops, restaurants etc although it is primarily a residential area. You can pass through here even with the Hop...More

Not the easiest area to get to as it is way up the hill and not well served by public transit, except by the jammed cable cars. Lots of beautiful buildings and great views. Charming.
