Great place for cheap prices and unique gifts, food and more. Lot of walking but its neat to see the Chinese lanterns string across the buildings.

This area extends for about 6 blocks and has mainly restaurants and souvenir shops. There are other speciality shops with mainly Chinese furniture but it is all well worth a visit. On our visit there was some sort of ceremony going on with loud music...More

Some stores had amazing art, sculptures, antiques, but most were what my husband calls tourist traps,.... T-shirts, lanterns, mugs, magnets, shot glasses, and other crap. The entrance to China town had stone dragons that were kinda cool, but this is not what I would consider...More

American Chinatowns, alas, are going the way of American Little Italy's: Authenticity has been overtaking by poor tourist standards and soaring real estate prices. Still, San Francisco's Chinatown, while overwhelmed by tourism, still has that sense of authenticity--from the shrines and great food to the...More

Great place to spend an afternoon. Its bursting with colours and life. Like any chinatown it is full of shops selling souvenirs and Chinese trinkets. Lots of inviting food smells wafting about. Small bakeries selling pork buns and sweet glutenous rice balls are on every...More

Lots to see, do and eat in the area. Many shops catering for tourists selling postcards, gifts etc. Very nice shops selling cakes. The area is very large but if you walk the whole of Grant Road, you will see most of Chinatown.
