We were very fortunate to go on an escorted tour up to the observation deck of this fine building. Wow. Very, very impressive with excellent panoramic views of San Francisco, Alcatraz and Oakland. Brilliant.

It was once hated, then loved, often a focal point, now somewhat hidden by the taller and bigger skyscrapers more recently-built. Always a San Francisco landmark.

It's a real tall skyscraper located in the Financial district of San Francisco city. It has a unique modern architecture which make it special. Take photos as a souvenir. Wherever you wander in the city you will surely spot its amazing top (upper levels).

If you happen to be in the downtown area close to the building, pass by. Otherwise a dedicated trip to see it is not necessary.

Soon after completion of Transamerica Pyramid in 1972, the skyscraper's unique silhouette made it an iconic landmark of San Francisco. The Transamerica Pyramid having a height of 260 meters, towers over the rest of the city. It has 48 floors with a 64 meter tall...More

There was a little bit complicated relationship between Amadeo Pietro Giannini and Transamerica, but Transamerica is more than proud to associate themselves with him. The building is definitely noticeable from just about any place in San Francisco. I thought I was told by my tour...More

Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but
can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s

life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the
narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of
historic and contemporary architecture, including the
iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours,
