We enjoyed our Gourmet Chocolate Tour in San Francisco! Highly recommend Gourmet Walks--they were attentive and responsive to emails before the event and gave us excellent advice about planning our tour. The 3 hour chocolate tour showed us a nice variety of artisan chocolate shops and interesting little spots, all in a 1.5 mile radius. The chocolate samples were plentiful... More

This was a really neat tour of gourmet chocolate in San Francisco. My sister and I got to try many types of chocolate from and around the Pier 1 Ferry Building, which also houses several local food producers. We also explored other chocolate and candy shops between the Embarcadero and Union Square. My sister, who is not a big fan... More

This was a great walk through the neighborhood of NOPA. We were able to experience many different tastes and flavors of the neighborhood and walk through the great areas of NOPA. Our host was gracious and witty and she knew the neighborhood. It made for a very enjoyable day and was well worth the money we spent.

Traveling as a family of four, myself, my Mom (Grandma) and two teenage boys 13 and 17. Being that it was Valentine's Day I searched up possible activities I thought that everyone would enjoy and this was the best I came up with. We were not disappointed!!! Ahmet was great. Very informative, chatty, and happy to answer any questions we... More

Casey is fantastic! We had seven stops with the perfect combo of savory and sweet. Casey is extremely knowledgable and I'm so glad I spent part of my day doing this!

Went with group of adults, including a number of choco-holics. Everyone had a really fun time. The chocolate lovers really enjoyed tasting the gourmet, artisanal chocolates. Think Napa wine tasting, but morsels of chocolate. For the folks--like myself--who like but don't love chocolates, the fun was in checking out some hole-in-the-wall places that I never otherwise would have thought to... More

We absolutely LOVED the chocolate tour. It was just fantastic. We didn't care about the SF drizzle because we were busy enjoying every bite!! Our favorites were Dandelion (the cold chocolate with cocoa nib infused whipped cream...), Recchuiti (beautiful delicious works of art) and Tcho (the blue bottle collaboration). We had such a blast. They are really wonderful tours --... More

We had Casey as our guide for the NoPa/Alamo Square tour. She actually lives in the neighborhood, and has watched it evolve. She was able to share stories of the restaurants and the people who live there. I really liked that. The food was good. We had fish tacos, Empanadas, Souvlaki, Ice Cream, Snow (you have to go on the... More

I am so glad I chose gourmet walks for my San Francisco chocolate tour! There are a couple different options in the area and there's no way another company could do better. We did a private tour the day after Christmas for my family of 14. The tour was informative, fun and delicious and kept everyone interested from those there... More

Marie kept us moving and entertained as she brought us to seven culinary hot spots close to each other in Russian Hill. The tour made for a diverting, delightful, and very filling afternoon.

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
