Known around the world for its Victorian row homes, this spectacular hilltop park is an ideal spot for taking photos. The park is currently undergoing renovations and will reopen Spring 2017. While under construction, a viewing area will remain open to see the infamous Painted Ladies. Please remember to pack out your trash as this is a Leave No Trace Park.

I went for a morning jog in this area and had a great time looking at all of the beautiful old Victorian homes. So many of them are either well maintained or have been lovingly refurbished. The park itself is quiet and clean. A great...More

I visited Alamo Square to see The Painted Ladies, which is a row of colourful and detailed Victorian houses along one edge of the park. The park is beautiful and offers great views of the city. There are gorgeous colourful Victorians on all of the...More

I went to Alamo Square as it was a stop on my city tour and we had about a 10 minutes here. It was just enough time to see the painted ladies (not impressed) but what I did find interesting is the views. The views...More

We went there to see a row of houses that don't even look like the pictures. They are supposed to be vibrant-colored victorian houses, and all you see are muted colour houses. I am sure that locals and people living nearby still don't understand why...More

We walked a long way to get there which was great exercise on the steep streets of San Fran. The park was nice, the weather was great, and the view of the city over the Painted Ladies was really nice. If you have time -...More

The park offers great view over the famous "painted ladies" and also over the city itself. It's a great place to get an overview of the city and snap some really nice pictures!

The houses on the square are nice, we did see them from the bus tour which we took around in San Francisco, and this was enough for us, we didn't need to get off the bus at this place.

It wasn't until I was home and read these reviews did I learn none of these homes was 'the' Full House. It's actually located elsewhere. But it was fun to see this iconic location and the Painted Ladies, as these homes are called, are lovely....More

They don't allow tour busses so I would assume they won't allow a large van. There are signs posted along the streets.
