Always a good show, always a fun crowd. I've seen quite a few up and commers here as well as some greats on Tour; Robert Walters, Ike Stubblefield, Con Brio, El Metate...never a bad night. Decent cover charge, good house beer, great dance floor. Come with a buddy or your honey. Make sure you catch the album release for El... More

Amazingly nice staff. We catered a private party here and the staff was great to work with. Super clean yet not too fancy. Really like the atmosphere and great cocktails. Can't wait to go back when not working.

Apparently they don't let bags in.. Shame I traveled from Miami to see some good local bands, but these guys are too selective for my type of blood.. Mr. Hooker must be turning in his grave..

Just happen to drop in here (via a taxi - definitely) and caught a UK reggae band debut in SF. Black Slate no less - had a great time! The venue is OK and their sound engineers seem to have it set up right - drinks are reasonably priced too.

husband and i went here based on the reviews. $15 cover (not bad for S.F.); just a hole in the wall live music joint: band was good ;singer fair. but the worst part is that the young crowd was standing around blocking view of stage for those who were seated . people weren't there to LISTEN to music...it was more... I am writing a mixed review because I was so excited to surprise my husband by taking him on our last night in San Fran to a jazz club where I thought I was going to see a blues/jazz band from New Orleans which was advertised on their site. I purchased the tickets for a '9:30' show and it was... More

There is something going on most nights at the Boom Boom Room and it's nearly always awesome. A chance to get up close and personal with live music in a safe and special environment. I saw two bands there whilst I was in SF and the ambience and sound was excellent on both occasions. Admission prices vary, but beer is... More

My boyfriend & I want to hear a Funk fusion band. We got there at 9 pm, but there was a rap band as the opening band. UGH! We ended up going down the street to a Brazillion restaurant with a Jazz band. Which was a great detour! We went back to Boom Boom Room at midnight and had a... More

Once again I visited San Fran's Boom Boom Room not knowing what to expect and was blown away by the great music. Not being a local or even from the USA, many of the performers were unknown to me but I took a gamble and had a fantastic night out out with top quality music and dancing. It's crowded, loud...
