A pleasant surprise on a rainy day

I was intending to go to Union Street to have breakfast when I took the bus to Union Street. No restaurants were open at the early hour of 8 AM. So I wandered East to Hyde St and... read more

At least experience it once. They create a lot of Irish Coffee. View over the bay is beautiful and a good area to walk on a sunny day.

The atmosphere in here is really lovely and convivial;the interior is warm and welcoming with wood fixtures and an old-fashioned pub/brasserie feel; and the bar staff are efficient if not overly friendly. The famous Irish coffee is decent but not exceptional (I prefer my flavours strong whereas this was somewhat bland). However I tried a Guinness to wash the coffee... More

Love this place. We sat at a table with a diverse crew and made friends, drank good drinks, and ate an awesome meal! Be ready to jump in and grab a spot

We stopped in because one in our group had been here before. Bloody Mary's and Irish coffee with Reuben's and Pastrami. Sandwiches were large enough to share and the service was fantastic. If you choose Irish Coffee don't forget to shout " make one"

You have to get an Irish Coffee, even if you don't like them. Go ahead, squeeze in amongst the crowd, that is all a part of the experience. Get an order in and then take a moment to take it all in; the people, the photos, the wood, the love, the view....then you'll be ready for the best dang Irish... More

This is the first time I went to The Buena Vista. I loved the atmosphere! It's crowded, it's busy, it's loud, it's great! Nicholas was our bartender. He was funny!

The staff has the personality of a door knob! Seriously, we sat right where the bartender in the photo on this webpage makes the coffees, and he barely muttered 2 words. Of course then, another waiter told me to move my bar stool, and I was thinking "Didn't you put the bar stools here"?

Went there after some people from our tour group told us about the Irish Coffee and how this place invented it. Didn't make it before our trip started, but luckily we had some time after our tour ended and went there. Bartender looked like he has been there forever, and made us a couple. They were fantastic, although we are... More
