The actual bike ride is amazing, although I found out how bad of shape I have gotten into! The people at the counter were helpful at letting us know where to go and where to stop if we wanted to see certain things. The views of and from the bridge were awesome as was Sausoiito (we did the trip from... More

Easy and fast. Great bike and wonderful service. There are many fantastic cycling areas in this area! Much more to do than go over the bridge! Thanks for your great service Andrew.

Thanks for reviewing us! Andrew will be happy to hear that his hard work is appreciated. I could not agree with you more, there are so many great rides in San Francisco, and Marin County. From the short and sweet to the super long and super rewarding, there are great options for all levels of cyclists. Hope to see you... More

We completed our RV stop in SF by renting bikes for (unfortunately only) a couple of hours biking, but hey, biking is such a very convenient way of crossing a great city (and being Dutch not a pain ;-). Hopping from some of the great points at the various Piers with a cherry on the pie visit of the Golden... More

Great bikes at a great price, just be careful parking your car in this city. Came back to it all smashed up from a hit and run after biking!

We had been advised that the best way to experience the Golden Gate Bridge was to cycle over it, so we did. We hired bikes, which was hassle free, quick and informative. Following the directions that had been given to us we certainly saw parts of the area that we might not have otherwise which were beautiful, although the slightly... More

Thanks for your review! I'm glad you enjoyed our suggestions for cool attractions on the route to the Golden Gate! There is so much to see and do on a bike ride in San Francisco, we cap the hourly rate four so after that you won't be charged for additional hours if you want to experience more. Sorry to hear... I did the 3 hour bike ride over the bridge. We were not warned how hilly and difficult the ride actually was.

I’m sorry that you felt that way. We would never mislead anyone, least of all if they had any apprehension about the ride. Along the National Park Bike Path to Golden Gate Bridge, there are only 2 hills. We always mention them in our directions for riders heading towards the bridge. One is steep, and short, and the other is... More

Hired a couple of bikes for myself and the wife and took a great ride around the bay area and across the Golden Gate Bridge. Then back across the bay on the ferry from Sausalito, and finally a short ride back to the hire shop in Fisherman's Wharf. With lots of stops for photos and a few snack it took... More

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
