Neighbourhood: Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighbourhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners. Indulge as the locals do by heading to Mission Dolores Park, buy some ice cream, and savor one of the most diverse neighbourhoods in the country.

The Mission district was full of cool graffiti art. It fun to roam the alleys and streets to see the different artist expressions from various artists.

Fun Time in the Mission District, San Francisco
Jun 2020
We had a fun return trip to the Mission District of San Francisco.

We had a delightful lunch on the patio at Foreign Cinema, which is a really fun restaurant

We took a walk and went to several stores and also looked at the amazing murals.

We went to the mission and also to Delores Park.

SLEEZEY DRUG INFESTED NEIGHBORHOOD WITH DIRTY COPS
Sep 2019 • Friends
If only the Cops in SAN Francisco would stop taking money from These Nasty Drug dealers on the street then this city might be half bad .The mussion area is filled with neighborhood Mexican restaurants of all kinds . Thats what makes this area unique and special to me but the Drug dealers in the mission district gave really gotten out of control here . I would wait for a bus on mission street sometimes and get hasstled by a Dealer at three ends of the block . If this would stop then this area would be good for busness for people with children and elderly ritired people . 50 years ago this kind of thing didnt happen in Sanfrancisco . Lets turn the Clock back again .

Great history
Mar 2020 • Friends
Went to see the alley with my sister from Delaware and let me just say how beautiful the murals are. I especially liked the powerful women empowerment mural. We were also the first ones to see a man painting Donald Trump. That one should be interesting once it’s completed. The area looks sketchy but overall it was a great sight to see!!! I plan on doing some research in regards to the murals and learn the history as well. Come with an OPEN mind ❤️

It's the Happening Place
Jan 2020
This is where all the groovy people go now for the coffee shops and cool restaurants, plus the funky bars and the ambience. But it has history as the Latino neighborhood and one should come here to explore what is left, especially the murals. And then go drink some coffee.

Nice to see the street art
Sep 2019
I drove through here as part of a city tour. We saw some of the street art which was quite cool. The most impressive was the one on the women's center. I have read reviews which say this district is unsafe and others which say it is good. For me, since we just drove through it was okay. But I guess you should be careful when coming here.

Nice Visit to See the Mission, Have Lunch in the Mission District
Jan 2020
I had a good time returning to and exploring the Mission District. I enjoyed lunch at Pancho Villa Taqueria. I explored some of the shops in the area. I then did a self guided tour of historic Mission Delores.

In addition, I liked the street murals in the ara.

Feeling scared with my walkabout
Nov 2019 • Solo
walked a few blocks each end from the BART Mission Station. At first sight, it felt like walking into a slum/gangland areas in LA.

Homeless people abound as well as hustlers.

Aviod even if your walkabout mission is to see Clarion Street murals - (see seperate review)

Impressive Street Art and Latin America feel
Oct 2019
Go to The Mission to see amazing art, have Mexican food and trendy bars. Valencia Street is full of shops, restaurants and bars. you will find also other interesting streets like 24th street, Guerrero and Mission. Don't miss Clarion Alley a small street ( between Mission and Valencia Streets and 17th and 18th Streets) for the colorfull murals and also on Balmy Alley south of 24th street. They are community art projects.
