Buena Vista Park is an awesome part definitely worth a visit! The tracks up are quite steep so prepare to be short of breath by the time you reach the top. Awesome views of the city and Golden Gate Bridge from the top and looks...More

Out on a long walk, we found this sweet park. Lovely views of the skyline. Totally enjoyable nestled in a neighborhood. Get your walking shoes on!

My mother and I visited Buena Vista Park during the afternoon of August 1st. We had been exploring the Haight-Ashbury neighbourhood and ended up wandering further down Haight Street, when we discovered Buena Vista Park. The park is basically a large hill with walking trails...More

This park has some nice view and good walking trails. It's a nice place to visit if you want to get away from tourists.

I've lived across the street from this park for nearly 20 years. On the good side, it is one of the oldest parks in the City (established in 1867) and historic. It is about half way between the Presidio and the Mission. When men rode...More

There was a mock funeral here in 1967 for 'The Hippy', it was hilarious. This park, a big bit of rock that proved too much to remove, is now a wonderful, somewhat manicured part of SF. Not safe at night.

Nice trails and great views. A little oasis off of the Haight. Can walk off the trails to beautiful neighborhoods too. A must see.

The climb from the very bottom to the very top of the park while jet lagged nearly killed me, but the view was awesome, and we saw so much lovely wildlife - hummingbirds, woodpeckers, blue jays - so pretty! Worth a stroll if you can...More

A great place to enjoy some of the landscape and versatile architecture! The park is actually man-made, but was created early in the city's history as people realized the need to maintain green spaces. Lots of history--especially in that people crowded into the park to...More

The area surrounding the intersection of Haight and
Ashbury streets, “The Haight” still exudes vibes of
the 1960s counterculture as a haven for vintage
clothes, music, pop posters and body piercing shops.
While the Summer of Love ended decades ago,
Haight-Ashbury has turned into a melting pot of
hippies, hipsters, and professionals. Walking through
its streets can still feel like stepping back in time.
