A great place to enjoy some of the landscape and versatile architecture! The park is actually man-made, but was created early in the city's history as people realized the need to maintain green spaces. Lots of history--especially in that people crowded into the park to...More

Found a homeless guy to give us a tour of the area and he took us up the hill of Buena Vista park. He took us to a clearing on the hill that over looked the entire city, past the bridge. He gave us a...More

Not sure why BV Park gets as high ratings as it does. The views from the top are negligible. The views from a bit below the summit on the north (Haight St side) are better but still not as good as other locales. Maybe it’s...More

one of the best views of the city from a very interesting and green spot. It's hard to get to the top but honestly the view will make you forget about tiredness immediately!

We were on a cross-city ramble with the goal of Haight/Ashbury, Golden Gate Park & the Pacific when we stumbled upon this park. What a great discovery for us! The park is basically a hill so the trails are steep to get to the top....More

I hadn't heard about this park, like I had heard about Golden Gate Park, Presidio, and Alamo Square. Now it's my new favorite! I took a self-guided walking tour of the Haight/Ashbury area and this was the first stop. Took the 71 bus from Market...More

Don't let the homeless folks scare you off. This is a nice park with pretty decent views. Don't forget your bottle of oxygen! It is steeper than it looks. Keep an eye out for the homeless guy with a Siamese cat on a leash- how...More

If you approach from the north side of the park, beware that you've got an uphill hike to the views. There's a way to approach from the south more easily. We walked up from Haight Ashbury. The higher you go the better the views.

On the way to Haight-Ashbury we stopped here. Well, we tried to stop here and it turned into a hike, but it was worth it! Views over the entire city, lovely nature, fresh air... Definitely worth it :) Forget Haight-Ashbury, this is what you need...More

The park looks really small from Haight Street, but once you starting climbing the hill to have a nice view from the city, you discover that Buena Vista Park is actually big enough to have various trails, enormous trees, and an amazing view of the...More

The area surrounding the intersection of Haight and
Ashbury streets, “The Haight” still exudes vibes of
the 1960s counterculture as a haven for vintage
clothes, music, pop posters and body piercing shops.
While the Summer of Love ended decades ago,
Haight-Ashbury has turned into a melting pot of
hippies, hipsters, and professionals. Walking through
its streets can still feel like stepping back in time.
