If you are going to San Francisco, be sure to plan your trip to be there on Saturday morning. The farmer's market at the Ferry Building has to be one of the best in the world. The Ferry Building itself has assembled some of the best restaurants, shops, and attractions in any indoor setting. On Saturdays the Building is completely... More

There's a small farmers market in the front of the building, but on the back facing the pier at weekends is where its at - organic, artisanal produce: from meats to fruit, flowers, preserves - glorious Californian Produce The food stalls are nothing short of amazing too - mexican, korean, arabic, seafood, rotisserie, jewish deli fare - its all there.... From fresh produce to cheese, from meats to flowers, from Mexican to Indian food stands, you will be on sensory overload. If I lived here, I'd shop every Saturday. So many season vegetables, I wouldn't know how to limit my purchases. The Brussels sprouts today were available on or off the stalk. Although I'm not a fan of fingerling potatoes,... More

The farmer's market is on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 10am until 2pm. Good selection of different foods from stall holders. In particular the chicken sandwich from Roli Roti Gourmet Rotisserie. so tasty and fresh washed down with a cup of Rosemary Lemonade. There are tables available to sit and eat your food. I definitely recommend coming here , you won't... More

TONS of organic food! The most amazing huge market with focus on ORGANIC food. We love going. During the week there is a smaller version of the market in the front of the Ferry Building...on the weekend there is a HUGE farmers market in front and the back of the builiding. Lots of great live music and fun to walk... More

Outside Japanese family makes wonderful miso and other items to take home. Busy. Good offerings to eat on the spot. Wonderful selection of organics.

This is a lot of fun. We enjoyed all the street vendors for food, produce, and crafts. We went on two different occassions. There is definitely a lot more going on on Saturdays. Worth a stop. An easy walk from the end of the California Cable Car Line.

During recent stop over, stumbled into this awesome even on a saturday. Everything, everything was top quality. Loved watching the "locals" buy their goodies. The rotisserie chicken booth was excellent. Inside stores are fun, but outside is most excellent. Amazing selection of food to take home and food to munch on. Will plan next SF visit around the farmer's market.

While the food and other shops in the Ferry Building are nice the Farmers Market, went on Saturday was amazing. The bounty from the California land is outrageous. Suggest you take trolley/buses along Embarcadero.
