Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I walked through part of this on my way to the de Young art museum. There was an app that supposedly gave you an audio tour but the directions weren't clear and I never quite got my bearings. Might be worth printing out a map or studying the layout before arriving. Some of the paths were wet and slightly muddy.

As two gay men, we wanted to visit this Grove to paty respect to those who had died of AIDS, and to those supporters and allies who made this magnificent place possible, including Nancy Pelosi. There are lots of small spaces where people can sit or stand and simply reflect in their own time and be with their own thoughts. I sobbed as I entered the main space where names are etched on the circular pavement. It is an emotional place, and enables visitors the mental space to quietly be with themselves and their memories.

it's a serene, calm grove. it was such a special intimate experience to walk there. it's not very easy to find. i was thinking of the first people who died by AIDS and the Immortalists book by Chloe Benjamin

The National AIDS Memorial Grove is a beautiful spot for some quiet and peaceful reflection whilst in Golden Gate Park. This grove is a memorial valley for the hundreds of thousands of Americans (many of whom were from San Francisco) and millions worldwide who died in the AIDS Epidemic of the 1980's. It is a very peaceful walk with many memorials and spots for reflection and contemplation of those who the world lost and those who now are living with HIV/AIDS.

Enjoyed a walk on the marked paths and throughout the unpaved forest grove, which was larger than I expected. Many places to sit and reflect throughout; don't miss the stone memorial, with an overwhelming amount of names of loved ones lost to AIDS.

These gardens are simply beautiful. Such a serene and peaceful spot to leisurely wander through. A true credit to those who established it and to those volunteers that maintain it.

I have been fortunate enough to attend the Light in the Grove fundraiser two years in a row. This magical night is a Celebration of a year of hard work and upkeep of The Grove and raises funds for its continuation. The Gove is a serene place where the engraved names in the Circle of Friends, either your own, that of someone you honor or love living with HIV/ADIS, or someone you love and miss and what to remember. The contribution to have a name engraved helps maintain the Grove’s health and beauty in perpetuity as well as tells the world that this global pandemic must never be forgotten and that everyone lost to AIDS will be eternally remembered.
