When you come to Fisherman's Wharf, you're probably not thinking that there's an aquarium here for you to visit. For you aquarium connoisseurs, you're missing out if you don't stop by this place. I think I came here for the first time after I left the bay area which is a pity because this is probably my second favorite aquarium... More

For the entrance fee, I expected a lot more. It was the usual assortment of smaller tanks with a variety of tropic fish, a few local small mammals and reptiles, and of course, the walk through tanks with rays and sharks as well a a number of other fairly large fish. At the end, there is a tank with otters,... More

The staff was very friendly, but It was a tiny aquarium. It's a convenient location if you're already on the piers.

Nice little venue. We went as a family of four and experienced the walk through tunnel and got to touch a snake, starfish and sea anemones. Friendly staff and easily accessible. We purchased our tickets in advance through Groupon (much cheaper deal).

This trip was so amazing how everything is set up to view. Being able to touch curtains sea animals was amazing and the jellyfish and shark tanks were so awesome with them swimming over you. They had huge fish to exhibit and they had the tiniest fish. Great place to experience and to take the family we will be going... More

We were planning on spending a touristy day at Pier 39, but it started to downpour. So instead, we walked over to the aquarium of the bay and spent a very enjoyable few hours exploring. The best part of the aquarium are the 2 glass tunnels. We must've spent at least an hour walking through the tunnels and observing the... More

Tiny little aquarium. Most exhibits were commonly found in other aquariums. Kids would find it fun as they could gently touch the sting rays. Did not take much time to go through. Barely spent a couple of hours there. Good that it was part of the San Fran city pass.

I rated this as average - average for an attraction. It's interesting with what it has. However, as an aquarium, I would have to rate it below all the aquariums I've been to (including the one in Albuquerque). This wouldn't be as bad if not for the price; $25 a person is a lot for something that will only take... More

We bought the SF city Pass and it included entry to this. I would choose to go to the aquarium portion of the CA academy of science or the Monterrey Bay Aquarium. It was worth visiting as part of a package though. The location is very convenient on Pier 39 since we were right there. It was extremely crowded when... More

We spent a little while visiting the Aquarium by the Bay. It is definitely NOT your Monterrey Bay Aquarium. But if you have little children they might enjoy the visit. And we supported the Bay conservation, I guess, by our visit.
