This is a quaint little park about a 10 minute walk from the main cruise port. I felt safe in the park compared to some of the side streets. It is small and has some cute fountains and nice plants. Its worth about 20 minute stroll.

We actually discovered this unique place while on our trek down from Coit Tower from the Filbert Street Stairs. As we approached the plaza, I remembered that Levi began his famous company, the denim jeans, here in San Francisco back in the the 1850’s.
You can walk the embarcadero and walk towards Coit Tower from Pier 19 to Battery Street. The plaza and main building is at the base of Telegraph Hill.
There is a beautiful park with cascading waterfalls. The inviting building is open without charge. There is actually a small museum and store on the rather large main floor. As you are wandering through, you can see workers coming and going as this is the main Levi HQ’s.
The museum is captivating as it tells the story about Levi Strauss. This place is popular for German tourists as Levi was from Bavaria. It is also a landmark for Japanese tourists who have enjoyed wearing the jeans for years. If you have time, the Levi Strauss HQ is one of the many hidden treasures of San Francisco.

Like a favorite pair of well-worn blue jeans, our visit to Levi's Plaza and the Levi Strauss & Company world headquarters was comfortable and relaxed. With some aged cheese and a loaf of sourdough, we crossed the Embarcadero from Pier 23 to have a picnic, admire the landscape architecture, and browse through the headquarters building, mini museum, and company store.
We were drawn into Levi's Plaza by the rolling green grass hills and meandering mountain streams, representative of the Company's origin outfitting the Sierra Nevada gold rush miners. The plaza was created by the celebrated modernist landscape architect Lawrence Halprin, who is famous for his alluring designs. The focal point of the plaza is a geometric, multi-tiered fountain of cascading waters, with stepping stones encircling a 72-ton centerpiece of carnelian granite.
Across the plaza, the Levi's logo directed us into the low-profile, red brick corporate headquarters building. Inside, we shopped for Levi's newest products in the company store, observed fashion designers at work in the airy atrium, and perused a mini Levi's history museum.
We learned that Levi Strauss came to San Francisco in 1853, and made his fortune selling riveted denim blue jeans, the most popular garment ever worn. Levi was adored as a faithful employer and munificent philanthropist. His generous spirit endures in the comfort of his clothes and openness of his corporate headquarters campus.
For the relaxed vibe, captivating landscape architecture, welcoming headquarters building and company store, and interesting mini museum and atrium, I give Levi's Plaza and Levi Strauss & Company headquarters four stars, riveted to the pockets of your favorite blue jeans.

Nice landing area after descending the Filbert or Greenwich stairs from Coit tower. There is a museum that details some of the history of Levi's denim jeans, and a few restaurants around the plaza.

Went to HQ store in lobby of Levi Plaze in hopes of getting access to jeans that fit.
Used to be able to buy 30x40 levis... apparently america got too fat and short to be profitable and 30x40 doesnt exist anymore.
All that to say the staff at the lobby store was super great, handled my return of jeans ordered online with super service and was helpful beyond what I expected.
I would go back for future help but since im 3 hours drive away, it will have to wait.
hoping the ones she ordered for me will fit....
They have an on-site custom made pants shop i didnt even walk into though because ive heard prices are in the 4 digit range and I just need pants that dont fall down, not ones that cost as much as a car... but if youre rich and shaped normal(for you) then this would probably be the place to go.
thanks again for great service.
cool museum in the lobby-free.

Pleasant plaza area with some great fountains, pretty trees, a small Levi museum area and restrooms.

We had been to visit Coit Tower, and had been advised to leave via the Telegraph Hill route, down the old Filbert Street steps. We got to the bottom and noticed a Starbucks Coffee Shop, joy of joys, in a very pleasant area, which was Levi's Plaza.
Levi's Plaza, is the home of the Levi (Denim wear) corporate office. There are plenty of places to sit and have a picnic, amidst a beautiful fountain area with stepping stones interspersed throughout.
We went inside the Levi office building to find a small shop, an interesting display/ museum area and free Restrooms.
If you have just come down the steps from Coit Tower and need a place to have a sit in order to get your breath back, and a Starbucks coffee I would definitely recommend Levi's Plaza. Alternatively, you can gain some sustainance, and maybe use the restrooms before you treck all the way up to Coit Tower.

Now I know why the clothing is so expensive, this place would be very expensive to maintain and keep clean with all the homeless people dossing there at night with their assorted rubbish.
It is commendable to try to have an oasis in a built up area, but the resident loonies shouting at each other, the smell of marijuana and those who were not all that familiar with personal hygiene, and the rubbish scattered around the place detracted from the place

Walk down the Filbert Steps from Coit Tower and Telegraph Hill and then pass through this downtown park with office buildings around. Cute and a breath of fresh air.

Love the soft and hard sides of the design. The water feature is spectacular, and I love the vegetation. Stairs to telegraph hill are adjacent.

This is only a very small museum which is situated inside the entrance vestibule and also in a separate museum room of the Levi Strauss Company Headquarters. It is completely FREE. We passed it on the hop-on hop-off bus tour and decided to visit.
We found it very interesting despite it’s size! There are examples of the oldest pairs of Levis in existence, other Levi garments through the ages on display, lots of relevant history and also interactive displays. Anyone interested in fashion will be fascinated.
On the wall in the lobby area are display cases showcasing customised Levi garments since the 60’s.
There is also a small retail shop and a tailor for made-to-measure and alterations. Outside there is an attractive waterfall area and benches to sit on in the Levi Plaza.

Ciao Mimma,
Grazie,
Attendo sue nuove
