Great Value - 5 stars!

For only $25 I was treated to a great tour of the Mission District. Tour guide Joseph is an interesting fellow and shared over 20 of his favorite food stops.

I took part in the Culinary Gems of North Beach, and it was exactly the food tour I was looking for -- a reasonably-priced experience with ample opportunity to buy and sample goodies along the way (rather than having pre-selected food foisted upon you). It doesn't stray more than two blocks from Washington Square, and ours lasted about 2 3/4... More

My wife and I had a great time on the "There's More to the Mission Than Burritos" tour. Chef Joseph was friendly, entertaining and knowledgeable. I really like the format of this tour. Rather than visiting a few places and eating, you walk and tour the area with Chef Joseph telling you the history and story's behind both the area... More

This walking tour covers about a 5 block radius in the Mission District. Joseph, the leader of our small (5 person) group, took us through or pointed out 32 different places ranging from taqueria to spice stores to bakeries to chocolate stores. We walked from 11:00 until 2:30 - which leads me to the only problem with the tour -... More

We walked around the Mission District. We received a long list of food establishments to follow. We visited almost every place on the list. Some places we even went into and were able to purchase food or other items so make sure you bring a bag with you as we did not. He also talks of the history of the... More

We live very near San Francisco, but took this tour because of all the buzz about the food scene in the Mission. It turned out to be just wonderful. Be prepared to walk 2-3 hours at a slow pace, but also be prepared to shop. This is not a tasting tour, it is a shopping tour - although we did... More

On a very sunny day, though nice ,but rather difficult for us 6 seniors walking for about 2 hours. Make sure you wear a hat or sunshade and good walking shoes. Chef Joseph knows the area well and told stories about it. He also introduced the different good Italian restaurants and places to buy focaccia bread, knives & cutlery, candies,... More

We took this tour after we enjoyed a tour with the chef's other persona: Emperor norton. We enjoyed learning about the Mission and getting tips on the best food. We also learned about the history of the area as well as about the murals and architecture. This guy gives an amazing tour- he tells excellent stories and he's very funny.... More

Another tour with Joseph...this time the Mission District. Can not recommend this guy enough. He does the research and loves what he is doing so the walking tour (2 1/2 to 3 hours so wear good shoes and sun screen if you are lucky to be there on a sunny day) is always more than expected. Even if you know... More

This tour was a gift from a very close friend to celebrate my birthday! I love food, cooking, baking and long walks...what a great fit. We were able to hear about the history of the area, great stories from Chef Joseph. Many of the stops we were able to buy food, ingredients and treats to take home! I actually found... More
