Wonderful trip
Mar 2020 • Couples
Captain Mike took us on a great trip around the bay taking in the bridge and Alcatraz Island. Baring in mind this is usually a fishing boat, Captain Mike was really good at giving us all the relevant details and history, an excellent and throughly enjoyable ride ~ thanks

Fantastic day trip
Jul 2019 • Family
My Wife, Father-in-law, son and myself went out with Captain Mike on 7-25-19. Price was fair at $155.00 for a full day. It was half price for my 10 year old son. By all reports from fisherman on other boats this was one of the worst fishing days of the year but our boat caught 7 nice salmon and a nice rogue halibut. The crew are very attentive and I wound up with a great Chinook salmon. Would take another trip with the Lovely Martha. FYI, I have grown up on the ocean and have never experienced seasickness. Many on this boat had it yesterday. I believe that the nature of the waves outside of SF Bay has so many conflicting currents and wave reflections from the surrounding structures that there is no cadence to the waves. My recommendation, take Dramamine BEFORE embarking.

GREAT WAY TO SEE THE GGB
Jun 2018 • Couples
My wife and I were in SF for a vacation. We walked down along the waterfront and the Lovely Martha was offering a sightseeing trip up to and under the GGB for $15. We took them up on the offer and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Some of the higher priced boats were also in the water but none of them went under the GGB. The staff was excellent and I would recommend this for everyone.

Great Trip! Caught my first salmon and my first big fish!
Aug 2018 • Friends
A friend and I went salmon fishing on the Lovely Martha to celebrate my birthday, and had a fantastic time. I had never caught anything bigger than 12 inches, and never fished in the ocean. Captain Mike, and his crew, Dave and Willie, were right there to help everyone, including me, who yelled "fish on" (the line) and to assure we reeled them in successfully. Captain Mike knew all the right spots, and when my friend hadn't caught one near the end of the day, he moved the boat again and my friend got his fish!

Lovely Martha Fishing Charter
Jun 2018 • Friends
Went on a Father’s Day Salmon trolling trip with some friends and my daughter for opening day of Salmon fishing. Captain Mike and his deck hands Dave and Willie were awesome! They kept a real positive and friendly vibe on the boat, interacting with passengers as they geared us all up.

Captain Mike knows his stuff, got us to a good spot and within minutes folks started catching salmon. At one point, 4 to 5 people were reeling in fish, and they were all over the boat helping net the fish.

Salmon fishing can be intense, and even when they were barking orders and telling to people to clear the way for an angler with a fish on their hook, they were always good natured about it, or would come back and pat you in the back and say “sorry I was barking at ya!”. All good!

Definitely looking for an opportunity to go fishing again with that crew, they are top notch!

So glad we chose this boat trip. Cheap as chips and a truly amazing experience! So much more reasonable than other providers. Would recommend.

Superb Trip Round the Bay
Aug 2017 • Family
Heading for the $40 ahead established boat trip round San Francisco Bay that leaves from Pier 39 when we 'bumped' into the team at the 'Lovely Martha'. We joined their trip round the Bay, out under the Golden Gate Bridge and back round Alcatraz. The team were brilliant, funny, informative and great hosts. The boat was big enough to feel really safe but small enough to have the personal touch. $15 ahead for an hour and a bit trip. One of the highlights of my visit to the USA. Look these guys up before you get sucked into the 'corporate' tourist machine down on the wharf.

Halibut opener
Mar 2017 • Solo
$130 for a full day trip (arrive at dock by 530am, we were back around 330 or so). Includes bait and rod & reel rental if needed. Leaves right from Fishermans Wharf. Validated parking a block away at the Anchorage Parking Garage for $14 all day. While we didn't find a lot of halibut as it was the very first halibut trip of the year, we caught a few slow trolling, and Captain Mike and his deckhands Willy & Dave were all great crew for sure. Will definitely be back out later in the year on this boat.
