being on top of Tapochau, we can admire the full island of Saipan, nearby Tinian. Sunrises and sunsets from there are BEAUTIFUL. And being there, you can see at once all the places where the battle of Saipan stand.

Although the road up can be a little bumpy it can usually easily be made with a "regular" car. The only time I would be hesitant is after a period of heavy rain. Once you reach the parking area a short, gentle incline of steps easily takes you to the top for a panoramic view of most of the island.... More

A great trek and off road excursion to the top of the mountain to watch the sunset! It was beautiful and the guides were more than amazing!!! I highly recommend you check this place out!

I'm honestly not sure why this is even considered a tourist attraction! It's an "overlook" with nothing to look at!

Although it is not really high, you can see the entire island of Saipan. The road is bumpy, but much better than before.

You must visit place. You can actually see the entire Island from this peak, in a 360 degree look. It is worth the trip.

You have to rent a 4x4 to be able to drive here. A usual car will do as well except that the contract provided by the rentals prohibit you from driving your none 4x4 vehicle here (for them to make more money). Directional signs to the site is limited. Make sure to go ahead of schedule for you not to... More

My boyfriend and I rented a scooter while in Saipan. It specifically said on our rental agreement not to drive the scooter up to Mt. Tapochao. Haha! We did anyway. The conditions on the portion of road that is dirt are probably pretty variable throughout the year. We had the intention of stashing the scooter on the side of the... More

This is the highest point on the island of Saipan. It's a gorgeous 360 degree view of the island. On a clear day you can see as far as Rota and sometimes, the northern islands. The change in the color of the water is incredible. Definitely a site to see when you're on Saipan.

The road up to Tapochao is challenging and recommend either having a four-wheel drive with some off-road experience or parking just off the main paved road, and walking up (takes a little less than an hour on foot). Views are spectacular at sundown.
