Typical Tourist Spot - nothing really to see

Rode up to the cliff to see the Island and it's still pretty basic. You can still only see a small portion of the northern part of the island...nothing special.

Natural scenery easily accessed by car. It is located at the northern part of Saipan. You can visit Suicide Cliff and other places eg Banzai Cliff, Last Commander Post, Korean Memorial, The Grotto, the Bird Island Lookout and Kalabera Cave in one day. However, while thinking about Suicide Cliff's history, it is more than a pure sight seeing place. Unless... More

Marpi's point is one of the cliffs where the battle ended. As my father (WW2 veteran with the Marines in the Battle of Saipan) described -in the final battle of Saipan, the GI's were chased up the road by the Japanese, The Japanese were soused on sake, yelled Banzai and then jumped. Seeing the actual place was much more deeply... More

This is a wonderful site to visit. It's a beautiful part of the island, but even more, it's an important part of history that is oft-neglected in US history books. I learned a lot, and it was a somber visit, a place to think about the meaning of life and national pride. How amazing that after the events here, everyone... More

It is indeed a beautiful view from there but ine must remember and respect what has happened in that place during the WWII.

Heading up to the cliffs after visiting the museum in garapan was the best idea. It gives you a deeper perspective and really soaks you up into the reality that was ww2. About 8thousand people jumped off of these cliffs to commit suicide. Seeing the sheer cliffs is just gut wrenching to imagine so many lives lost here. If you... More

This place is just a sight to see. Once you get to the top, you will appreciate the view that Saipan has to offer! Also, there is a great historic story about this place, so it is very exciting site!

A lot of history and the view was great. See from below first and then go up. Some memorials but needs some work as it has been hit by bad weather.

The site is rich in history but quite boring to be honest. Since Siapan is a small island, might as well visit it. You have to pee in the forest as well should you need to go...

So this is not a developed historical site. This is a moving location where you can reflect of significance of the events that occurred. If history is lost on you then you can just enjoy the view....
