Our family toured the WWII sites on Saipan as well as the main museum at the National Park. The museum is excellent. The Last Command Post Park is close to both Banzai cliffs and Suicide Cliffs. All are fascinating and obviously very sad but important...More

Last command post is very close to both banzai and suicide cliffs and on the way to the Grotto. You should pull over and make a quick stop at a minimum. Shows some of the big artillery that were used to help defend the island

After the American Memorial, this is the place you need to go. I wish there were plaques that gave more information, but even without them, you can kind of figure things out. Make sure you go up the steps and into the command and control...More

Interesting spot immediately below Suicide Cliff. It was not the command post but more an island retreat for Admiral Nagato who commanded the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

They've done a nice job of preserving the last command post of the Japanese. I found it both fascinating and sad to learn of the war and I'm thankful history proved it to be a good thing.

There are lots of old artillery guns and tanks that make this site interesting to stop by for an hour.

Good site to see to learn about the history of Saipan and the struggles people went through during WWII. Very solemn place.

Stop here to read about the history of this end of the island. The relics are in various states of decay, but it is nice to see flowers groing out of what were once weapons of destruction!
