The Val Verde Winery is a local historic winery in Del Rio, Texas, owned and operated by the Qualia family. I have visited the winery when I was invited on various occasions. The winery is located on a scenic property and the Qualia family have always been very welcoming and attentive during the wine tastings. The only factor that truly... More

You can get one complimenty sample...a taste of 5...or what we did...shared a taste of ALL the wines including the ports for $10. We mostly prefer sweet wines and bought the Muscat but also liked several others. The Merlot was very good. The pricier of the two Ports was really good. Nice girl serving our tasting with good knowledge of... More

The wine isn't all that great but the history is fun. This winery lived through prohibition by making sacramental wine. The site is beautiful and ancient. The winery is actually hard to find since it is located well off the beaten track in the original part of Del Rio which is most interesting to drive through. Many old mansions and... More

Went there on a Friday and tried the red wines then went back on a Saturday and tried all the whites. Not a bad wine in the place. The Port is amazing!

This winery is old and small, but so cute! We went with some friends for a tasting and prices are very reasonable. We tasted all 10 wines (plus 1 port) for $10. They were all really good, some delicious in fact! The staff were very friendly and knowledge during the tasting. The bottles are not a bad price either, we... More

Small, historic winery with good wines and friendly staff. So interesting that the winery has been in the same family for over 100 years. We did not take the tour and had a limited tasting of the selections but decided to purchase a couple of bottles. The tasting room has displays of wine-making equipment.

No surprise that this winery has been around so long. Very good selection of tasty vintages. Didn't do the full tasting and still found several to buy.
