This is a fun place for a quick visit. In the end it is just a house in the rock. But it is pretty interesting. There is also a petting zoo here.

we wanted to see the house, but they charge A LOT to get inside and you can't take pictures. if i can't take pictures, i can't show people how cool it might be! therefore, i can't recommend it to anyone! the gift shop was so-so. there is a zoo there. didn't go in. can't imagine that animals have to live... I won't try to tell you the full story of Hole N the Rock. A (possibly) crazy mining engineer decided to make a house by tunneling into a big hurking rock. Now it's a museum/shop/tourist attraction.. Maybe an example of how the desert makes you crazy, maybe an example of how people can be creative. Probably some of each. If... More

I drove by this place at least three times BEFORE I found the courage to stop. It was tacky with artifacts from every possible genre (and, I think I photographed them all).

This place is about 15 minutes south of Moab and is worth seeing once. It isn't something you will choose to do over and over, but if you have little kids it's a good place to let them walk around the paths. The store/souvenir place is better than most and the ice cream is pretty good. There isn't alot to... More

My boyfriend and I had just climbed Wilson's arch and were looking for something near the area to do before dinner. I collect smashed pennies, so Hole in the Rock was one of the places I wanted to go to anyway, so we went! Was not expecting such an interesting tour. I would definitely recommend the tour because it's not... More

I should start by saying we didn't do the tour. Maybe that makes it better. But the shop located inside the hole in the rock is full of all sorts of junk which I'm not sure who buys. Cool to see it's carved inside the rock, but nothing amazing inside.

I barely remember this place. It was all the other rock formations that I remember. It will most likely be on your route to the other scenic adventures on your way through Canyonlands.

The ingenuity and fortitude of the early pioneers is amazing! It's very commercial but the history is fascinating!

Hole 'N the Rock is a quick stop on the road South of Moab. The cost to tour the house blasted into the rock is about 6 dollars each, but it was a fun and interesting stop. I don't think I would do it twice, but if you have never been there it is worth your time and money
