The first challenge is finding parking in this real popular hiking trail. If you are able to park enjoy, relax and do not be in a hurry. This preserve goes to the water. Amazing views.

A favorite spot in the spring, early in the morning when the crowds are still sleeping...wild flowers and birds make the experience peaceful and rejuvenating .... the dogs sniff every inch of the trails...deer and fox are local residents.

Easy but steep. Took our 4yo and he was dragging his rear on the way back up. No one was there and it was wonderful. We enjoyed taking photos of the area and having it all to ourselves.

The smell along the trail was awful--sewage. Small waterfall. Lots of people in the water and on the rocks so it was hard to get any uncluttered pic. Easy wide path though.

This is a beautiful park on the edge of the Potomac River with hiking trails through wooded parkland. It's not nearly as crowded as Great Falls National Park, which is right next door. There's also no entrance fee. Parking is somewhat limited. You can walk...More
