In addition to the big attraction of cliff dwellings of Bandelier National Monument, the canyon provides hiking trails and picnic areas. It is a perfect place for a day's outing.

We took the Frey Trail down to the main loop, which gave us great, elevated views of Frijoles Canyon. It's a beautiful canyon with different level hiking trails available for all different types of fitness levels. Get out & enjoy!

Frijoles Canyon forms part of the Bandalier National Monument and is the extension of the valley beyoingd the Cliff Dwellings. There are high sand stone cliffs to one side and across the river partly wooded hills.
