Nicely remodeled building and exhobits! Slick design, interesting Manhattan Projet info, and a cool old building!

A new national park that has a small office/museum but is working on a more permanent location. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and there is a movie to watch talking about the projects. The whole town is really the park, so wandering around on your own will get you a flavor of things.

This place is slightly hidden, and so once I went to look for it, and could not find it...but I think if they had some signs pointing to its destination--it would get more foot traffic.

Los Alamos Historical Museum is currently located in the Visitor Center, but still worth the visit. The docents are former employees of the Los Alamos Lab, very informative. While there you can tour the beautiful grounds/park in the area. This temporary location is withing the Museum area. All in downtown Los Alamos.

Even though this museum is located in a temporary building, it is still worth visiting as everything associated with the Manhattan Project is intriguing

We visited Los Alamos, New Mexico to see one of the sites of the newly created Manhattan Project National Historic Park. There are 3 sites in all with the other 2 located in Hanford, WA and Oak Ridge, TN. If you have a national parks passport book the parks have a 3 part cancellation stamp where you get one piece... Well worth a visit. The museum has two very educational films which I recommend that you view before touring the museum. The exhibits are well done and some are hands on.The individuals who worked there are listed on the walls with photos and a short biography. The museum is free.

The indoor exhibition is in temporry premises across the road but some of the old houses behind Fuler Lodge are well worth viewing..They include the Romero Cabin and the Ranch School Power House.

We have been years ago and it was a wonderful experience. Was so disappointed to take friends and learn there really is no museum. Their website doesn't mention renovation. It is a temp location that is 1/10th of the original size. There are really no exhibits; only a short film and a couple boards. So many stories untold. At minimum... More

This National Park historical museum is in a temporary location (teen center) while the previous building is being renovated. It is essentially a gift shop, 20 min film and historic photos. This park is part of the Manhattan Project National historic park which includes sites in WA (Hanford site) and TN (Oakridge site) all involved with making the atomic bomb.... More
