Love the drive through the desert. We saw all kinds of wildlife and plants. We saw plenty of road runner and lizards. We loved all the variety of cacti. The purple cactus was our favorite.

Authentic desert landscape and flora and fauna. We stopped at several places to photograph the cactus, sage and other desert plants. We saw plenty of road runners, several snakes (Western Coachwhip) and an enormous Tarantula crossing the road !!

The Chihuhuan Desert is massive--you can see different views all around the park-- some areas have more plants/greenery than others- some are bare-- extreme heat while there in June

We saw javelinas, coyotes, and roadrunners! This dessert was overgrazed by settlers and has earned it's nickname, El Despobado!
