The hike was not too challenging or to long. Lots of place to take a picture or just enjoy the view. Not too rocky or steep. Our dog loved the hike too great view of the lake.

This easy 4 mi out and back hike is a must-do when in Gunnison or the surrounding RV parks in the area. During the summer, go early morning or late afternoon due to the heat during the middle of the day. Minimal ups and downs on the trail and the rating of easy is spot on. Kids will find enjoyable and the views f the Pinnacles and especially the beautiful Blue Mesa are worth seeing. …

The Pinnacles are a beautiful geologic formation located on Blue Mesa Reservoir and that makes for spectacular views, especially, imho, in the dead calm when reflections are mirror perfect. Unless you're the 1/1,000,000, the pullover and vista is all there is, as the Pinnacles are not easily accessed on land and would require high skills to climb/hike.…

Located along the shore of the Blue Mesa reservoir, the pinnacles are bits of an eroded mountain. When we went, the trail was snowy but not icy so we did not need our micro-spikes. This is a very photogenic place and if you keep your camera at the ready, you might be treated to big game wildlife. We saw about 5 bucks and a large group of doe. There's a sign and a bench at the end of the trail with a bit of an explanation of the pinnacles but it was cold and windy when we were there so we didn't stick around long!…
