breathtaking, a must do, gorgeous scenery, trails, fresh air, uncrowded. Spend more than a day there. local people are very friendly and made us feel right at home.

Found out about this little known former mining town from a Crested Butte resident while visiting. This town is only"open" in the summer and houses the scientists of the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory, in existence since 1928(!). On your way to some of the lovely...More

If you can't get there by 10 a.m. on a weekend, do not bother, no safe parking. Next time I will take the shuttle bus and go on a weekday if possible. The drive up was beautiful for we caught it during peak wildflower bloom....More

A small eclectic town with stunning scenery! Flowers in July are spectacular. A short drive from Crested Butte, there is plenty to do there! Hiking biking and 4x4 plenty!

This was a beautiful hike! Parking and restrooms available at the base of the mountain. Moderate 2-3 hour family friendly hike. Take water! Judd Falls was a beautiful site to see! Stop into the Gothic information center for trail maps!
