The Parkway is like a arbor, so if your in a car, on a motorcycle or an RV it extends from Georgia allthe way thru NY. Plenty of look outs, rest and pit areas too. Water nerver freezes in the toilets, because it's s high grade oil. Wild life abounds and at 45 mi/hr children and baby can wake up... More

the best stretch is from Asheville up to Blowing Rock/Boone. You can divert to Mt. Mitchell and you also get views to the east of Hawksbill and Table Rock and Shortoff Mountain.

Just about the best scenery available....Breath taking!!! WE chose to go in the winter to see the snow. It just accented the views. The roads were in surprisingly good shape for just having a "winter storm event".

Driving the Natchez Trace Parkway and Skyline Drive and the Antebellum Trail and the Great River Road in Illinois and Louisiana is one thing. But driving the Blue Ridge Parkway is quite another. It is a National Parkway and All-American Road, noted for its scenic beauty. America's longest linear park, it runs for 469 miles through 29 Virginia and North... More

Yes we did this scenic drive not once but twice. No we didn't repeat this trip to tell the truth it had to be done in 2 different years. (( done once again in August but in 1993 & 2001 not 2016)) We didn't plan to do this drive in the Appalachian Mountains this way but here is the answer... More

We have driven the Blue Ridge Parkway many times. The view is stunning. We still have more to see and are anxious to visit again. Looking Glass Rock was one of my favorite stops in October. The leaves were changing colors and were beautiful. We stopped in the Folk Art Center as well which is a must do. The items... More

Went to the Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway. A wonderful place to visit. Artisans from all venues have their wares displayed for sale. If you're lucky enough to be there on the third Saturday of each month (10-4), you can walk into the auditorium and watch, for free, some of the worlds greatest wood turners making things.

I have driven the Blue Ridge many times and each time is an unique experience. Once I drove the Blue Ridge Parkway from North Carolina to the Shenandoah Mountains. The Parkway is well maintained. Around every bend is another spectacular view. The camp grounds are well maintained. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a fun experience for people of all ages.... More

We made extensive plans and had a great list of points from MP417 to the end but missed much of it when we ran out of time. So plan for a long, leisurely drive and take your time! I don't think there was a single stop that we were disappointed with - they were all amazing! We were there in... More
